Supporting your body’s Natural Detoxification Processes

Supporting your body’s Natural Detoxification Processes

How to reduce your toxic burden, and detox from the inside out

Avoid Plastics

  • Avoid: plastic water bottles, topper ware
  • Instead: use stainless steel water bottles, glass containers like Pyrex, install or purchase a good quality water filter (I use Berkey)

Load up on Phytonutrients

  • Avoid: Processed/packaged foods
  • Instead: Eat whole foods, real foods (cruciferous vegetables: broccoli, kale, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts)
  • Choose foods: high in antioxidants (green leafy vegetables and wild berries, garlic and onion)

Reduce your Mercury Intake

  • Avoid: tuna, shark, swordfish, marlin, fish with high ratings of mercury
  • Stick with: small, cold water fish
  • Easy Tip from Dr. Mark Hyman: SMASH (salmon, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, herring)

Exercise, movement, sweat sessions

  • Walks (15 – 30 mins a day without cell phone is possible)
  • Exercise
  • Frequent Dry sauna use

Detox the Home

  • Avoid: Chemical filled and fragrance filled products
  • Stick with: natural, simple, minimal ingredient list products (Vinegar, baking soda for household cleaning products)
  • Stick with: Natural, minimal ingredient list skin care products (Coconut oil, essential oils, honey, etc)
  • Hot Tip: EWG’s Skin Deep Guide, lists detailed info on safe ingredients for both home and beauty products
  • Great Free App: Think Dirty (scan items bar code, and it will give you a full report of ingredients and safe or dirty meter)

Supplements

  • Consult with a practitioner who performs muscle testing, as supplements and dosages, even natural and clean, can vary from person to person
  • Be sure to only take Supplements that are of high quality (don’t contain gluten, or added ingredients that could be damaging. Stick to as little added ingredients as possible when selecting your supplement branding)
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin C complex
  • Zinc
