Ingredients
- 1 green plantain
- 3-4 tbsp coconut oil
- Sea salt
Directions
- Step 1 1. Cut off the ends of plantain, and peel.
- Step 2 2. Slice plantain into inch slices.
- Step 3 3. Setup your station (cutting board, small plate, knife, large plate with paper towel)
- Step 4 4. Heat coconut oil in a small sauce pan or pot, over almost medium heat.
- Step 5 5. Place plantain slices into pan, fry for 2-3 minutes before flipping.
- Step 6 6. Using tongs, carefully flip plantain pieces and fry for another 2-3 minutes.
- Step 7 7. Turn off heat. Remove from pan, place directly on paper towel lined plate. Let cool for 3-5 minutes.
- Step 8 8. Using your small plate, carefully flatten each piece, removing from your plate with the knife. Place back on paper towel lined plate.
- Step 9 9. Heat pan/pot again. Add a few pieces (as many will fit in your pan), and fry for 2-3 minutes per side. Flipping only once.
- Step 10 10. Remove and place on paper towel lined plate again to soak up any excess grease.
- Step 11 11. Sprinkle with a little sea salt and enjoy!
