Apple French Toast (Grain-free)
Ingredients
- APPLE SLICES
- 1 apple, peeled, cored, sliced (I like using a mandolin for quick and consistent slices)
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp honey (optional)
- TOAST
- 2-3 slices Grain-free toast of choice (I use AWG Bread)
- 1 egg + 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- Maple Syrup (optional)
Directions
- Step 1 1. Peel, core and slice up your apple.
- Step 2 2. Add ghee to pan, over low/medium heat. Once melted, add in apple slices. Toss to coat well.
- Step 3 3. Once slices are becoming tender, sprinkle in the cinnamon & honey, tossing to coat well.
- Step 4 4. Continue tossing and watch to not burn the slices. Once ready, remove from heat.
- Step 5 5. While apples are sautéing, whisk one egg and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Step 6 6. Soak your toast slices in the egg wash, then transfer to a pan over medium heat, cook for about 2-3 min per side, then transfer to a plate.
- Step 7 7. Top with your apple slices and enjoy!
