: 2 (36oz. mason jars)
: 15 min
: 24 hr
: 24 hr
Ingredients
- 3 lbs beef or chicken bones
- 3 carrots roughly chopped
- 3 celery stalks roughly chopped
- 1 onion roughly chopped
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp Sea salt to taste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder (optional)
- 1 tsp black pepper (omit if AIP)
- water (enough to cover bones)
Directions
- Step 1 TIP: Save bones from your pasture-raised animal protein meals in a large zip lock in the freezer. Once the bag is filled up, you have enough for another batch of broth.
- Step 2 1. Place bones at the bottom of your crock pot.
- Step 3 2. Chop your carrots, celery, onion
- Step 4 add into crock pot with whole garlic cloves.
- Step 5 3. Add ACV, sea salt, turmeric, pepper.
- Step 6 4. Add enough water to slightly cover the bones and veggies.
- Step 7 5. Cover and cook on low for 18 – 24 hours.
- Step 8 6. Strain the broth and store in tightly sealed containers. I use large mason jars.
- Step 9 If there is a layer of fat risen to the top, you can discard this fat if you desire. I use it all, cause I love all the FAT.
